Royal Vancouver Yacht Club

The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is located at 3811 Point Grey Road on the south shore of English Bay on Vancouver's waterfront. Established in 1903 and renovated in 1978 and 1997, the club has 4,800 members. RVYC has a ninety-year history of hosting regattas and an international reputation for excellent race management and on-shore activities. The club is a ten-minute drive from downtown Vancouver and its many attractions. Facilities include a clubhouse with four dining rooms, three bars, and banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 500 people. This will be the site of Waves Race Week 2008.

RVYC Dock

RVYC's sailing programs focus on a balance of hosting major world, continental and national championships, strong local area racing programs and youth development through RVYC's Junior Race team. Many RVYC members have achieved international fame sailing at Olympics, world championships, and major international offshore events.

The RVYC Jericho location consists of the main club house, wet moorage and dry storage docks. RVYC-Jericho has two launching cranes and floating docks that accommodate over 350 yachts. Active fleets include PHRF keelboats of all sizes, J/24s, Martin 242's, Stars, Dragons, 420s, Lasers, Laser IIs, Laser Radials, Bytes, Tasers, 470s, sailboards, and Optimists. The protected breakwater is free of wave surge and the race area is quickly accessible.

RVYC's second marina in Vancouver is located at Coal Harbour in Stanley Park, a world famous tourist attraction in downtown Vancouver. This marina houses mainly cruising sail and power boats, many in boat shelters. Coal Harbour has two floating lifters that can accommodate yachts up to 80,000 pounds.
