Special Children's Cruise
This unique event is a fun morning for children with special needs to have the opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy all the things that boaters enjoy. Aboard the MV Britannia, children and their caregivers/teachers from many schools in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley cruise False Creek, English Bay, and Coal Harbour. RVYC is grateful to the 15th Field RCA Band, personnel from Vancouver Fire & Rescue, the Armed Forces for their volunteer participation, and also to the generous sponsors who enable RVYC to continue this valuable community outreach programme.
Boat for Hope
RVYC is proud to support Variety The Children's Charity's annual Boat for Hope event in Vancouver. In the words of the charity, Boat for Hope raises "significant funds through the skippers plus corporate and community partners, while at the same time, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for children and their families."

Our Jericho Marina proudly flies the Green Marine BC flag, and our Home Port at Coal Harbour in Stanley Park has just been awarded the 4-Anchor rating by the Georgia Strait Alliance. We have also done the same at our seven Offshore Stations and all are Green Marine certified.
No more plastic bottles at regattas! We installed a water station on our One Design dock. Competitors from far and wide using our Jericho marina for regatta events are encouraged to bring their own refillable bottles. Our dinghy regattas even provide refillable bottles at a nominal cost so that everyone is in a position to help us reduce plastic waste.
Other initiatives include composting, buying locally, seasonally, and from sustainable sources wherever we can, and growing our own herbs.
