  • Adult Sailing Lessons - Lessons For All Skill Levels
    • RVYC offers adult sailing lessons for both members and non-members, with two class formats in an effort to make sailing lessons more accessible.

Monday weeknight sessions will be taking place in May, June, July, and August. The sessions are grouped into three or four consecutive Monday evenings, but will not run on holidays (Victoria Day, Canada Day, and BC Day for example). The evening classes will utilize the club's Catalina Capri 22 sailboats, with three students and one instructor per boat.
Weeknight Lessons will be from 1800-2000 hrs.

On paired Saturdays, lessons will continue to be offered in the club's Elliott 6m sport boats with a 2:1 student to instructor ratio. This will facilitate excellent learning opportunities, and allow the flexibility to custom tailor the lessons to each students' abilities.
Weekend Lessons will be from 0930-1630 hrs.

(All lessons will be primarily built around on the fundamental skills needed to sail small boats and the CANSail curriculum. It will not follow the Sail Canada 'Learn to Cruise' standards.)

Students should bring their own PFDs, sunscreen, water, and notebooks.
