On The Water

Welcome to RVYC's sailing pages!

Whether you race one design yachts, PHRF sportboats, dinghies, windsurfers, kites or wooden classics, English Bay will challenge you with unique conditions—shifting currents, high winds, light winds, whitecaps, and everything in between. We are proud to have been host to any number of regional, national, and international regattas - most recently the International Six Metre Championships and the Laser North Americans.

For more than 50 years, our youth sailing program (JTP) has been dedicated to coaching and empowering the next generation of Lower Mainland competitors and sailing enthusiasts. We offer courses in July and August for children as young as five (members and non-members) to learn sailing basics through the CANSail levels right up to Levels 5 and 6 and more than 300 young sailors register every year. Many go on to join our Race Team and become members of the Club. We are proud of our alumni who first discovered their love for the sport and developed their skills at JTP who have gone on to compete - and medal - at national, international and Olympic levels.

We are proud to support our members' active Olympic campaigns for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
